Client # DPHM-085 a 26 year-old, Native American, single mother with three children was referred the Sampson County Department of Social Services for on- the-job training. Her training included career counseling, resume writing, and job preparation, also, actual work experience at U Care’s office, as office support and at the thrift store as merchandise clerk.

Client # DPHM-085 actively participated in the life skills workshop and has learned to work collaboratively, building new skills, completing work and assignments on time. Within a month she has become gainfully employed, full-time at one of the biggest companies in this rural area. Her rate of pay is above minimum wage, and she is on her way to becoming self-sufficient and financially independent.
